Most Americans disapproved of how President Barack Obama has been handling the economic and job issues for the past few years. Recently though, Obama's approval rates have been going up. Forty- nine percents are supporters while forty- seven percents do not support him. The support are coming from groups such as the independents, young adults and seniors. As the light get brighter for Obama, the GOP in congress side is looking dimmer. Obama stance on payroll tax-cut has gathered many supporters. Many middle class family trusts Obama as oppose to a few that feels GOP will help them. Obama distancing himself from Congress may be one of the factor in the change of view. It seems that his approval rating is the only one that is going up compared to Congress's approval rating, GOP and democrats in Congress have low approval rates from the people.
