Obama on one of the GOP's action

Obama denounces Senate vote to block Cordray at consumer watchdog agency

The Senate blocked Obama's nomination for a new federal consumer protection agency. This blockage really infuriated the President; he feel that the Republican are doing whatever they can to get even with him and not caring about the United State's citizen. The President said that the United States is in the mess it is in right now because the people in the federal consumer protection agency were not doing their jobs correctly, or were not doing their job at all. Although, he is met with opposition, Obama is not giving up, he will continue to push forward to put Richard Cordray into the office. Obama wants to appoint Cordray when Congress leaves for Christmas break next week, but the Republican are finding ways to stop the President. The GOP  will try to "prevent a recess appointment by keeping the Senate technically in session throughout the holidays."

The GOP is going against in every step he takes but it is not just to go against Obama, they have their own reasons. They have praised Cordray but they are looking forward to a five member committee and have other regulatory bodies watch over the decisions the committee make very strictly.

This move by the GOP is very immature. It goes to show that people in politics these days are no longer for the people and by the people, the different parties only cares if they are the dominant one in government. In the end, this selfish game that the two parties are playing might prove to be a great weakness in US government.
